How to Install And Test an AirPort Extreme Wireless Card
The
AirPort Extreme Wireless Card is an internally installed card used on Mac
desktop computers, allowing instant access to the wireless signal system.
Although all the new Mac computers have a pre-installed AirPort Extreme
wireless card, you may need to install such a device on an older system. The
process involves opening the tower, but the installation only takes a few
minutes to complete.

Instructions:

the lock on the bottom of the desktop side panel. This unlocks the panels of
the Mac computer. Raise the lock and remove the panel to expose the inside of
the computer.

two are installed) from the front of the computer. Use a Phillips screwdriver
to remove the screws that secure the drives in place, and then slide the drives
out of the way.

Locate the card slot directly
behind where the hard drives were located. There is a black vertical card slot,
which can be used by the AirPort Extreme card.

Insert the card into the slot.
Push down over the back of the card and insert two retaining screws into the
circular slots at each corner of the card. This protects the card inside the
Mac computer.
5.

connections and the leading Bluetooth antenna located directly above the card.
Connect the cables to the card antenna positions, these are the two mounting
