 Airport Express is a product of Apple which is very reliable and easy to use a router. An internet user can easily configure the router on the existing network with the help of basic setup steps mentioned on the link. A router is used to share a network with more than one device.

To use the router to its full capabilities, you must know some amazing features of it.

1.       Share USB printer at household: Till today, we all were addicted to using the different printer for different computers. But now with the change in technology, Apple has now made it possible to use a single printer for all the computers connected to the network. You can connect the computers to the router which is connected to the wireless printer via wi-fi or via USB cable.

To start printing, just connect the printer to the USB port of airport device and install printer drivers on the computer. Go to ‘System’ preferences and click ‘Print and fax’. Tap on the ‘+’ icon to continue adding the devices to the printer. You can now start adding the printer to each computer or device at home.

2.       Connect network printer to the iOS AirPrint: After the successful connection of the printer, the same printer can be used for iOS device. There is Apple AirPrint feature available in all iOS devices that allows you to connect to the printer of any brand.

3.       Network storage: In your AirPort Express, there is provision to record the network which can be used by the other members of the family. Here, it is important to mention that only single USB port is available on AirPort Express so, you can use Multi-port hub to connect two devices together to the AirPort Express. There is no need for additional power supply for the Multi-Hub. It will be powered on automatically through USB point connected to the Express.

4.       Use of AirDisk for TM backup: After connecting the hard drives and printer to AirPort Express, there is still a backup available for all PCs through AirDisk option available in the Express itself. To access this feature, go to ‘Preferences’ of AirDisk from the computer and click on ‘Time machine settings’. Click ‘Select Disk’. You will find a vast list of devices available for connection right now. From here, you can decide a drive to which you want to connect to.

To share a data which is having a size in MBs, you must use the standard 802.11n network interface as it is considered the basic requirement for a time machine. You will find a problem in using the backup function if you don’t adhere to the rules and guidelines.
